LOOK INTO HIS EYES AND
SEE IF THEY CAN SEE
INTO YOUR SOUL....

To express how we ever felt about Red and Daisy, I could never sum it up in one word.  But they were fantastic!  If God had ever
wanted to give us a gift in the form of an animal, they were it!  We originally wanted one of their pups, but that didn't happen at
first, we got them together instead.  That was by far the best blessing for our family and lives.  Red's demeanor and intuition
was priceless and Daisy's love and affection and protection were too good to be true!  I have spoken to others that have had
their sons and daughters and grandchildren.  They felt that their lives were so enriched by those dogs that they were not just
mere dogs, but kindred spirits in our life here on earth.  We too have felt so blessed by Red and Daisy that our lives could
never be the same.  They walked in and now have walked out.

When Daisy left us, I knew that Red would follow, just not how quickly.  The day he died I knew that Daisy was looking over her
shoulder and seeing him again to run and play with as they once had in their youth only now it was over the rainbow bridge.

I can't say enough of Red's ability to keep us from harm while he was with us.  He kept our children safe and happy to be his
charges even while protecting them from themselves sometimes.  His bark made clear his intentions of who was possibly in
danger and from pulling a sleeve to guide a child away from harm's way or standing between them as they argued amongst
themselves.  Once he saved us from carbon minoxide poisoning while not even in the house.  He began barking in the wee
hours of the morning and would not be still.  While too weary to silence him another 15 minutes passed when suddenly the
carbon minoxide detector went off.  We hurried out of the house and waited for help to arrive to find out later that inside it was
3 times the limit.  It took a while to fully awaken from such a spell, but I'm not fully sure that if he had not barked incessantly that
early morning that I would have awaken at all.

And, Daisy, who kept watch one night while a bear roamed the countryside outside after breaking into enclosed porches nearby
as well as freezers.  It was during Hurricane Isabel and we were using a generator so we were unable to close our door all the
way due to the cord.  She stayed awake and on watch all night long never stopping from her rounds of one end of the house to
the other.

Today we have their progeny and some have the same look, or even the same personality, but even though we know that they
can never be replaced we find comfort in their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
It's a tremendous and wonderful feeling to have them be a part of our lives.  We will forever be indebted to our first couple!
Our first Aussies!  Our First Blessings in the canine world that God so richly gave us!
