GETHSEMANE MOUNTAIN RANCH
AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS
Aussies love
the land and
weather which
they withstand
very well.  They
are a hardy
breed always
aiming to
please.
Our Aussies
herding instinct
is apparent but
not overbearing.
They follow our
lead and do well
with whatever
we ask of them.
Remarkably So!

Why and What is the Aussie?
As a child I always had a love for animals and we are teaching that to our children.  What a better breed of
dog to do that with than the Australian Shepherd.  When we first took a look at the Disney movies I
remember fondly the movie, "Run Appaloosa Run" for we had Appaloosas at that time.  I was fascinated
by the little blue dog that captured everyone with his speed, wit, guarding and herding instincts.  It made
me want to know more.  Then, it was just a fascination, now it is a true pleasure to see them, play with
them, love them and nurture their nature toward us.  We feel truly blessed to have them in our lives.  From
young to old, they are seemingly the same.  They will go to their dying breath to be there for you.

Being a newer breed, no one really knows their correct origin, although it is not Australian.  Odd,
considering the name, isn't it?  Well, Americans first saw this Blue dog with the Blue eyes and Stub tail
with the Basque sheep herders coming here with ships to sell the sheep.  Because most sheep and wool
were coming at that time from Australia they adapted the name to include Australian, however we have
culminated the breed to where it is today.  So, in essence it is more American than Australian.  Where did
they really come from?  No one seems to know.  But, I like the adige  that the secret may lie with the Lost
City of Atlantis...now did that really exist and could they have come from there?  Who knows?  But, what I
do know that God must have them here to be very special for all of us who love them.  For they are unlike
any dog I've ever known or owned as they read your mind and know what you need sometimes well before
you do.  They sense something within you that stirs them to do for you beyond the call of duty of a "dog".
We pray that if you decide to get an aussie that it will be the best experience of your life as well as the
dog's.   They truly are unique and loving creatures.  Just look into their eyes to see if they can see into your
soul.

...yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.  Mark 7:28 (KJV)

What Do We Do?
We raise Australian Shepherds to enhance your home and life.  We socialize our fur
babies to make every moment with them a pleasure from pickup to living with you.
We want yours to be as special of an experience as all of ours has been since the
beginning with this wonderful breed.

All pups are held at birth immediately and given individualized attention every day in
every way you can think of.  Our children also handle them to ensure a good
closeness with smaller hands,  We also train our children to respect our Aussies and
all our animals to ensure a good close relationship with future children that may
enter their lives.

We do dock tails or have natural bobs and remove dew claws. Wormings are
administered and rotated to ensure proper infestation removal.  We also give proper
shots on schedule and give you a written health record to keep and take with you to
your vet to show all that has been done or given to them before you get your new
pet.

Pups are also destressed to the best of our ability and  litter trained at a young age
to help with proper house training techniques for their future.  We also try our best
with training on a collar and leash, crate training, voice commands, noise de
sensitivity, being around other animals, riding, agility prospect, exposure to the
elderly or disabled and good all around fun with your pet.

We want your experience to be a good one with your Aussie, so we strive to make it
as pleasurable as possible for both you and your new companion. We try to put
emphasis on making their transition into your lives both easy on you and them.

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for the living dog is better
than a dead lion.   Ecclesiastes 9:4 (KJV)
